About the Binder :
Sami Keats was drawn to hand bookbinding in 1998. For over 20 years she has been a fine art photographer concentrating in black & white and Polaroid transfer work. Combining the two disciplines into Keatseye Book Work, Sami’s goal is to work with photographers, writers, printmakers, artists and anyone with a passion to express themselves in book form.
In 2006 Sami began teaching an introduction to hand bookbinding course at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. Workshops in Japanese bookbinding and box making are on going at Sami’s studio.
